A brief history of Sumi-e (Oriental Watercolor) will be given as we go along, as well as a description of the materials to be used. After basic strokes and control of brush are mastered, we'll tackle multiple tones on one brush, and then color. The goal is to finish some pieces and learn to paste them down for framing. For Pastels, again, materials will be discussed, along with composition and application of pastels.
