Sangita Phadke was born in Barrington, Illinois. She earned her BA in finance at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. As a self-taught artist, Sangita has developed her photo-realistic style through the manipulation of light and an obsession with detail. Highly regarded as a still-life artist, her larger than life fruits and vegetables have earned her numerous awards including the Audubon Artists Gold Medal of Honor and Best in Show at the Somerset Art Association. Sangita’s work has been shown in national and international exhibitions at the Salmagundi Club, the National Arts Club, the Butler Institute of American Art, The Fort Wayne Museum of Art, The Art Gallery of Hamilton Ontario, and the Artists Magazine.
