Joe Parascand’s interest in art started in childhood, when he enjoyed drawing World War II planes. Basically self-taught, his formal training includes courses at the Art Students League, the duCret School of Art, and the Guild of Creative Art.

Over the past few years, Joe’s style has become more impressionistic, owed mainly to painting with the Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast (PAPJC), led by Judy Stach. Although most of his current paintings capture plein air subjects, his work also includes still-life and portrait subjects.

Several of Joe’s paintings have won awards in various art competitions, and for the past three years his works were juried into the Monmouth Festival of the Arts.
