Jim Ferrier has been a life-long resident of the Jersey Shore. Raised in Ocean Grove, he attended Neptune High School. He went on to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Syracuse University and a MA in Fine Arts degree from Montclair University. Jim taught art at Monmouth Regional High School for a number of years and recently retired after thirty years working in the banking industry. He now divides his time between residences in Avon by the Sea, NJ, and Lake Gaston, NC. Retirement has allowed Jim to return to his interest in the arts. He works with oils and watercolors, and often chooses local water scenes, boats, and landscapes for subject material. Jim is a member of the Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast, the Rehoboth Art League in Delaware, and an exhibiting member of the Guild of Creative Art, Shrewsbury.  His work is represented in private collections across the country and can also be seen on permanent display in Ocean Grove, NJ.
